Exams
Newest SCP certification exams address current demands for network security
skills

2007 -The Security Certified Program (SCP), a
leading provider of vendor-neutral security certifications for information
technology (IT) professionals, announced the release of the new Tactical Perimeter
Defense (TPD) Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP) exam, which leads to
the new Security Certified
Network Specialist (SCNS) certification. s. SCP is also introducing the new
Security Certified Network Specialist (SCNS)
certification available upon completion of the first SCPStrategic Infrastructure
Security (SIS) exam, which leads to the Security Certified Network
Professional (SCNP) certification.
The new SCNS and
SCNP certifications have been developed to help improve security tasks skills that are expected of
network and security technicians, network and security administrators, IT
security officers, and any other individual responsible for an organization’s
computer and network security. “This is an enormous step forward for SCP,” said Warren

invested thousands of hours and dollars re-vamping our SCNP program and this

The
new SCNS
certification validates skills that network techniciansIT professionals need when working with computer and network security.
Officially authorized SCNS training is designed to help students gain not only
the required critical knowledge, but the hands-on security skills to utilize
that knowledge in defending their networks.
Skills covered in
the SCNS course, Tactical Perimeter Defense, include:; designing and configuring firewalls
and intrusion detection systems, router and access control, IPSec and VPN’s,
and wireless security.
The new SCNP credential certification validates
the IT professional’s a network
technician's knowledge and hands-on skills to design, configure,
and implement basic concepts of higher level network security skills. SCNP
certification encompasses the education and training covered in both the
Tactical Perimeter Defense and Strategic Infrastructure Security courses.
Authorized training will cover a variety of concepts and skills related to,
hacking techniques, risk analysis and contingency planning, packet analysis,
hardening Windows and LINUX systems, and cryptography. SCNP is an approved
certification for the Department of Defense-Directive 8570.01 Tech Level 2.
Official SCP training is
delivered by SCP Authorized Training Partners (ATP) training facilities around
the world. SCNS and SCNP exams are hosted by PearsonVue and Thomson Prometric
testing centers worldwide, including all DANTES testing locations for the
military and U.S. Government. (should we add: in association with VUE or

SCP practice exams and assessments are available through MeasureUp.
SCP exams are
available on May 30th through the global network of Pearson VUE
testing centers, and will be available June 14th though the Thomson
Prometric worldwide testing network.
