The
Security Certified Program is proud to offer intense certification
exams. Where most certifications test on rote memorization level
details, The SCP exams are designed to test a candidate's knowledge
of working security issues, programs, and utilities.
With the new
SCP Courseware, and the SCP Certification Updates,
there are some changes to the SCP exams as well. The first two
current SCP exams, HTI and NDC are in the process of being retired.
These two exams will no longer be available July 31, 2007.
The first new exam, Tactical Perimeter Defense (SC0-451) will
be available through both Prometric and VUE testing centers,
and is the required exam for the SCNS certification.
The
second new exam, Strategic Infrastructure Security (SC0-471)
will be available through both Prometric and VUE testing centers,
and is the required exam for the SCNP certification.
The TPD and SIS courseware titles map to the corresponding exam
name. Both
SCNA courses, ASI and ESS are needed in order to adequately
map to the SC0-501 Exam. In
addition, the final exam, SC0-502, is 100% scenario based, pulling
information from ALL FOUR SCP courses. Each question will present
a complex network environment, including quotes from key employees
regarding the network, its performance, and security. This
level of exam will truly test a candidate's abilities and knowledge
of SCP courses.
A candidate must be aware of all the issues surrounding the
security of the network, and how to respond when serious issues
arise. A candidate who has successfully completed the Security
Certified Network Specialist (SCNS), The Security Certified
Network Professional (SCNP) or the Security Certified Network
Architect (SCNA) program will have the hands-on knowledge to
be ready and qualified for the complexity of the security world.
Exams are available worldwide through both Prometric and VUE
Testing Centers.
