Geneva, IL. USA 9/21/2006 The Security Certified Program
today announced a new Vice President of Sales and Marketing: Mark A. Patrick.
It
is a rare occasion when a person can leave a job that he dearly loved to move
into a role that has an even higher potential for helping our IT
community. My name is Mark Patrick and I am the new Vice President of
Sales and Marketing for the Security Certified Program. My role is to
help brand the SCP certification and develop our training channel. The
beauty of having this opportunity is that the reputation of SCP is stellar in
the Security Certification arena. It will be my job to drive this
certification to new heights in North America and Internationally. There
will be many changes that you will see from us in the next 6 months. We
are aggressively creating and placing marketing in Certification Magazine
(CertMag), military documents, and in our own website. Watch for our new
ads, new logo and upcoming press releases in the near future. Read below
to learn more about the exciting things that are happening at SCP. I think you
will be impressed!
As always we want your feedback and suggestions as we grow. Please contact either
myself or Tracy Richter, Channel Manager (Tracy@SecurityCertified.Net
630-208-5030) so that we can make this time productive for your delivery of SCP
training. We look forward to your proactive participation!

The Security
Certified Program (SCP) News
* New SCP Logos
No longer known as Ascendant Learning, we have taken on our
product name, Security Certified Program as our true identity. There is so much
happening at SCP! As part of our facelift, we have redesigned our
logo. It's not drastically different, but the new look points toward a
new frontier for SCP.
* SCP & DoD
Directive 8570
Providing training and certification for individuals and businesses that wish
to protect themselves against these crimes is rapidly becoming the highest
priority. The Department of Defense alone will be spending millions of
dollars to drive Directive 8570 to help our military component's networks to
become more secure. At SCP, we see the opportunity and are positioned to
help you drive revenue through your training and education business. Our
content qualifies for Directive 8570 and we are deeply engaged with the DoD and
vendor partners to help create certification opportunities for you! Stay tuned
and make sure that you have a current instructor for SCNP. If you do not,
please contact Tracy Richter at out corporate office and she can help to set
you up for our next Train-the-Trainer session.
* New SCP Marketing Campaign
Security Certified Program is aggressively marketing the SCP courses and
certifications this fall. You can expect to see banner ads as well as print ads
throughout the rest of the year. Our first ad placement will be in Certification
Magazine www.certmag.com.
*About The
Security Certified Program
The Security Certified Program (SCP) develops and validates skills of information security professionals. The SCP is a two-level, vendor neutral security certification program that enables individuals to acquire skills and get certified as a Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP) or a Security Certified Network Architect (SCNA). The focus of SCNP is on Defense, using technologies such as Firewalls, Intrusion Detection and Virtual Private Networks.
The focus of SCNA concentrates on trusted communication and
emerging security technologies like Public Key Infrastructure (PKI),
biometrics, and smartcards. To
obtain certification within each level, students must pass at two proficiency
exams demonstrating their security knowledge. For more information, please
